Anxiety & Art Therapy

FOR OVERWHELMED MOMS & WOMEN IN PERIMENOPAUSE

Milwaukee, Wi | Online Across Wisconsin & Colorado

You make it look easybut it’s taking everything you’ve got.

LET’S BE HONEST:

You wake up already tired—your mind buzzing, your heart racing before you even get out of bed.
From down the hall, your toddler’s calling for you while your
brain runs the list: get breakfast on the table, pack lunches, find the missing shoe, sign the school picture form. You’re slapping together sandwiches, filling water bottles, trying to get out the door—and before you know it, you’re yelling again. Then comes the guilt.

Or maybe your morning starts with a lukewarm cup of coffee and a wall of emails. What do you even focus on first? The notifications never stop—Slack, Teams, texts, meetings that could’ve been emails. Everyone needs something from you, all at once.

You keep it together because that’s what you do. You’re the one people count on—at work, at home, everywhere. But lately, it’s getting harder to hold it all. You snap, then feel awful. You lie awake replaying the day, wondering why you can’t just handle things better.

You love your family, your career, your life—but you miss yourself.

It doesn’t have to stay this way.
You can slow down, breathe again, and create a life that actually fits who you are now.

hi, I’m Amanda.

I offer a calm, creative space to slow the rush and reconnect to yourself.

You’ve been running on empty for too long. Therapy is the space you need to finally catch your breath. As a mom of two, therapist, and business owner, I get it. If you’ve made it this far down the page, I know you’re looking for relief.

In our work together, we’ll make sense of the whirlwind you’re in and help you find your footing—so you can move forward with intention. Not steering from the background, but fully present, with both hands on the wheel.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist, I specialize in anxiety therapy, support for parents, counseling for women and professionals, and art therapy. I also work with women navigating the hormonal changes of perimenopause—helping them through this shifting time that brings strong physical and emotional challenges, by reminding them they’re not alone, nor is it “just stress.”

Clients often walk away with a clearer understanding of themselves—finally making space for their own needs, not just everyone else’s.

Here’s how I can help:

  • Anxiety is running the show—your thoughts spin, your heart races, and your body feels tense, leaving you in overdrive every day.

Together, we’ll build awareness of how anxiety shows up for you and learn how to work through it—so you can find real relief and steadiness again.

  • Parenting wasn’t supposed to feel like this—exhausting, overwhelming, and full of guilt, with constant pressure to get it all “right.”

We’ll untangle how anxiety and perfectionism feed the overwhelm and help you find steadier ground to be the parent you want to be.

  • Is it stress—or could it be perimenopause?
Your body feels off, your moods swing fast, and even small things set you off. You’re second-guessing yourself—wondering if this foggy, irritable version is just who you are now.

In therapy, we’ll connect the dots between hormones, anxiety, and emotional shifts—so you can feel steadier, clearer, and more like yourself again.

  • You don’t have to be an artist to find healing through art. Art therapy gives us another language to express what’s hard to put into words.

Through creativity—whether imagery, color, or simple scribbling—we’ll uncover insights you may have never expected and find calm and clarity in the process.

Common Questions About Therapy in Milwaukee

  • The easiest way to get started is to click the button below to schedule a video consultation with me.

If video doesn’t feel like the right fit, you’re always welcome to call, text, or email—I’ll personally respond within 24–48 hours.

I offer online therapy for professional women and moms in Milwaukee and across Wisconsin and Colorado.

  • Yes. I work with professional women and moms in the Milwaukee area and offer in-person sessions in Wauwatosa, as well as virtual therapy throughout Wisconsin and Colorado.

This makes it easier to get support without completely rearranging your schedule—especially if you’re already feeling overwhelmed and need something that fits into your life.

  • You don’t need to come in with the right words or a clear explanation of what’s going on—we’ll figure that out together.

Sessions are a space for you to slow down and begin to understand what your body is experiencing when it comes to anxiety.

We might start by noticing what you feel in your body, or use simple art-based exercises—like mapping where you hold anxiety—to help you build awareness in a way that goes beyond just talking.

From there, we’ll work on developing tools and practices you can use between sessions, so you feel more grounded and better able to move through anxiety in your daily life.

  • I use a combination of talk therapy and art-based approaches.

From talk therapy, I often draw from CBT to explore thought patterns, along with DBT techniques that help you connect with what you’re feeling—both emotionally and in your body.

Rather than only talking through what’s going on, we also focus on understanding how anxiety shows up in your body, using simple creative exercises to build awareness and connection.

This can be especially helpful if traditional talk therapy hasn’t felt like enough.

  • Not at all. You don’t need any art experience to benefit from this work.

Art therapy offers a more creative, flexible way to explore what you’re feeling and thinking—especially when it’s hard to put things into words.

As a creative therapist, I use a variety of approaches to help you see things from a new perspective and work through what might feel stuck.

This might include simple art-based exercises or incorporating other creative outlets you enjoy, like music, cooking, or hands-on activities.

I’ll guide you through the process, and you always get to choose what feels comfortable.
